Board Room Services
This is where retirement planning begins. The advisors at SCS Retirement will meet with you to learn about your company and your company’s retirement plan goals. We will then apply our institutional processes to help you determine the investment choices, plan design options and education strategies that fit your situation, while working with the investment committee to implement the services that are right for your unique group.
Companies take on serious fiduciary and legal obligations when they sponsor a retirement plan. They also have a business to run and may not choose to direct scarce resources to managing investment details. That’s where we come in. Many employers engage SCS Retirement as a fiduciary in relation to plan investments under ERISA Section 3(21). We also have the ability to act as a 3(38) investment manager in select advisory relationships.
Our Boardroom Services Include:
- Plan design assistance
- Legislative education
- Investment due diligence and monitoring
- Holistic plan fee analysis and negotiation
- Participant education strategy and implementation
- Systematic provider benchmarking
- Investment Policy Statement assistance and review
- Terminated participant maintenance program
What Sets Us Apart?
SCS Retirement brings a wealth of experience to each of our retirement plan clients. We apply the latest innovations to keep you informed, help you stay organized, and provide maximum value for your retirement plan investments.
As consultants and advisors, we at SCS Retirement offer our services in exchange for fees that are reasonable, clear, and stated up-front. Because we are fee- based, our recommendations are always made in the best interests of the plan participants.
Fiduciary Investment Report for Monitoring (FIRM)
With FIRM, SCS Retirement is able to continuously review the plan’s investment performance using a 12-point scorecard system that integrates with your Investment Policy Statement. FIRM allows us to create an easy-to-follow action plan, and documents our advice.
401(k) Provider Benchmarking
The Department of Labor recommends that you benchmark your retirement plan provider every two to three years or after any significant change in circumstances. SCS Retirement utilizes LPL Financial's proprietary plan provider analysis and benchmarking tool called RFP Director. RFP Director maintains the richest data and conducts the most comprehensive research on retirement plan providers and asset managers. Employers who choose to evaluate their plan providers on fundamental product, service and cost components will find this program to be an integral part of their documented due diligence process.
We realize the importance of ensuring you are offering your employees a competitive retirement plan. When you hire SCS Retirement, we can provide you access to the latest industry reports that you can use to benchmark your plan to ensure your plan design and services are in-line with your industry and more importantly, your competition.
Quarterly Plan Sponsor Newsletters
Each quarter we provide our clients with our “Plan Sponsor Outlook” newsletter keeping you abreast of the very latest plan design and regulation changes happening in the retirement plan industry.
